Innovations that change lives
Down through the years, Legrand has introduced any number of pioneering innovations to the market. In France and beyond, some are now used as generic names—Colson clamps and Plexo waterproof switches and sockets, for example.
More recently, Legrand launched Drivia with Netatmo, the first smart, connected electrical panel, along with pioneering smart switches with no wires or batteries. In another breakthrough, we rolled out mission-critical lighting systems designed to disinfect sterile environments under the Kenall brand.

Innovating to break new ground
Over the long term, Legrand dedicates an average 5% of sales to Research & Development each year. This gives us the resources we need to explore new areas and anticipate emerging needs in electrical and digital infrastructures for buildings. The Legrand’s Design team also does pioneering work to create avant-garde concepts.
Expanding built-in voice assistance
For years, Legrand has partnered with international digital players to create new services incorporating voice assistance. We brought the first voice-controlled connected switch to market, and we continue to build this key function into offers such as our all-new Classe 300 EOS connected video door-entry system.
Fast-tracking innovation
In partnership with France’s Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), Legrand developed an innovative connected switch solution with no wires or batteries. Thanks to an energy harvesting mechanism, these next-generation switches combine an all-new connected comfort experience with reduced environmental impact.
